Fashion in Hydro Age
CONCEPT, DIGITAL DESIGN
2022
2022
This project represents an imaginative investigation where the areas of increasing sea levels and the fashion sector merge. It serves as a conceptual design endeavor undertaken with a profound understanding of advanced research methodologies.
Team
It was a collaborative effort within a group of three, where each member contributed their individual strengths to the project. As a UX designer for this project, my involvement encompassed both in-depth research efforts and the production of compelling visual elements.
Process
1. DISCOVERY
a. Problem
The lead author of the UN’s climate change report, Prof. Ek Hawkins has warned that the sea level will continue to rise for years to come even if the world cuts emissions of greenhouse gasses. Consequently, communities living along coastlines may be compelled to adopt alternative solutions based on their living situation.
We mainly focused on the changes that will occur in Fashion and appearance when the sea level rises.
While those with substantial financial resources may opt to relocate, a significant portion of the population could find themselves residing on the water, reminiscent of the concept of Noah's Ark. However, this transition to a life on boats will present its own set of challenges, including heightened risks of drowning, fluctuating temperatures, and increased susceptibility to diseases.

2. DEFINE
User Persona
I developed a user persona as a valuable tool for crafting user-centered designs, enhancing user satisfaction, and optimizing product effectiveness. This process fostered empathy and a deeper understanding of potential users, ultimately resulting in more user-friendly solutions.
3. IDEATE
In the development of smart textiles, our attention was directed towards two distinct financial segments. One encompasses the high-end luxury brand Gucci, while the other pertains to the more accessible non-luxury brand H&M.
4. DESIGN
Gucci
For Gucci, the focus was on, the body suit temperature, the design pattern of Gucci & the culture.
H&M
For H&M, the focus was on affordability and weather forecast accessibility to all.
5. OUTCOME
