Kitchen Insider is a meal planning app that empowers users to create delicious dishes using ingredients they already have, while also combating food waste through proactive tracking and intelligent recommendations for utilizing perishable items before they spoil.
Team and Role
As part of a two-person design team, I worked as a UI/UX designer.
My responsibilities encompassed all aspects of design, ranging from information architecture and user flows to visual, product design, and prototyping.
Design Process
In every design process, there is a framework to follow. To begin, I make it a priority to grasp the user's identity, their requirements, areas of concern, and what drives them, all in pursuit of devising an appropriate solution.

Onboarding
The onboarding feature is extremely user-friendly. Users simply need to supply specific prerequisite information, including their food preferences and physical characteristics. This data empowers the AI to create a personalized list of recipes.
Homescreen
The home screen consists of two parts: ingredients and recipes.
Ingredients show the list of ingredients that are left in your kitchen. The sequence of the lists is designed in such a way that ingredients nearing their expiration date are prioritized at the top.
Recipes
You will find a list of recipes that you can prepare from the ingredients left in your kitchen. The recipe page shows important nutritional values of the recipe, the time to prepare that recipe, the portion size, the list of missing ingredients, and from where to get those ingredients.
Profile
The Profile section provides the flexibility to modify or update your preferences and view your recently visited or liked items.
